       Keeper of the Door

Uncertain of the sacrifice, he gave his life to those who waited;
A number called doubtfulness whose love was unrelated;
Because he cried a dry tear, No happiness was shown;
Laughter was inevitable, How could he have known?

Robbed of his innocence, he went to fight once more,
When his last breath was taken for the Keeper of the Door.

Stolen was his will to fight, there was nowhere left to run;
Not a single cry was heard when death realized he had won;
Death stood proud, satisfied as his curtain fell;
Silent wonder in his eyes glowed the secrets that won't tell.

Stand back now, give some room for the hardened floor,
Secrets, Secrets: Who hides one from the Keeper of the Door.

He was walking strong, so full of life, sure that no-one could touch;
Trusted well in his position that just a little was far too much;
What he needed, He could not find, just an empty space;
He gave all he had to nothing with no more he could waste.

So come crawling back now, little one, come beg to me once more;
Reaper, Reaper, the Soul Seeker was the Keeper of the Door.

Do you care what is thought by others about you
If this day is all that is promised to you
Do you live for the present, the future the past...

Nice to see you back, Flame.  You've been missed.  And Wow - what a poem to come back with.  I read deeply into this...  Haunting, indeed.
