Purple rage
black and blue
now fading to
a sick yellow

I see it there
on your face
not knowing what to say
like so many others
i look away

as if that can make it better
like so many others
I pretend everything is right
I look through you
so I don't have to see

it's no wonder
that the purple rage
is always there
a look away
a silent admission
that I don't care

Who's rage is this?  Yours or the person you speak of?  A bit confusing for me at least.
But I liked it..
I wish all people would care a little more..

I understood it as you describing what someone else feels as they look at you and then writting a poem on it....(was that confussing?...lol) ....anyway yes, it does feel like they don't care when they turn away or act like everythings ok. If only they would see themselves thru our eyes.

GREAT POEM!
take care,

actually I wrote this about a friend who was in an abusive relationship and I didn't know how to approach her about the bruises that we all started to see so I ignored them until my consience wouldn't let me any longer because I felt by ignoring it I was saying that I didn't care

to me, it seems like this might be a victim of abuse. a bruised face and denial. people not knowing what to say or what to do. i could be way off, but that's what i envisioned in the words. anyway, great piece.

i love too much, and not enough.

this is very good. words like this are hard to say. i applaud you for letting your conscience win. this was an excellent work.
