Melpomene
must you afflict
the weaving of my days
with the unforgiving touch
of one
who drinks sorrow

Implore the Fates
on my behalf
to pluck their hues
from dewdrops
from sunshine
and to discontinue
that dreadful scarlet
and the color or night
as these colors are not en vogue
for this season of my life

Melpomene
diminish your dominion
over the frail strands
of my existence
before Atropos s

WOW!!  This one is powerful and full of darkness and mystery. Bravo!

Do you care what is thought by others about you

Do you live for the present, the future the past...

thank you all for your kind words. for anyone unfamiliar with greek myth- melpomene is the muse of tragedy, and atropos is one of the three fates, who weave the thread of our lives. atropos cuts the thread of life at its end.
