Lightning flashes, pulsing like a strobe light
Thunder crashes and roars in the silence of the night
The wind howls furiously throwing things at the windowpane
As I sit in anticipation, waiting for the rain

It's cold wet drops begin to land upon my skin
Relesing feelings I have hidden deep within
I can feel the electric charge in the air
Pumping through my veins, leaving my soul bare
Nature's fury unleashed ravishing the land
As I release pent up rage... still trying to understand
Now warm salty tears mingle with the rain
I just want to forget, to wash away the pain

The rain whipping, stinging, tearing at my flesh
As the storm and I become one, somehow intermesh
The thunder booms in a voice I recognize as my own
The wind shrieks in agony- all the pain I've known
The Earth begs for mercy, it knows it will not win
But I'm tired of paying, paying for someone else's sin
A tornado of emotions destroying everything in its path
Limbs break, windows shatter in the fury of my wrath

My anger spent I suddenly grow weak
The wind becomes a whisper, then no more does it speak
I look up and see the sun appear from behind a cloud
And I step into the light away from darkness' shroud

WOW! I felt this poem with every single fiber in my being. I too have felt this very way. This was so amazingly powerful, and left me feeling in awe.

Kim echoes my every thought on this!    This is truly wonderful and you should be damned proud of it!!

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be

StarrGazer. . .

The rain does have an effect on all of us, doesn't it?

I have seen that it has been a point of reference for all of us lately. . . perhaps a rain challenge is in order?  Isis, what do you think?

Nothing like the storm, except of course, the sun. . .
