Stupid, niave', pathetic me, Unable to stand tall in poetic society, I knew it was too good to be true, Those special things aren't meant to happen to me. Suckered in, a pawn for the playing, 'Stupid Woman!', I hear them saying, Embarrassment, pain and shame, Never look at my work quite the same. It is all a pack of lies, Everything in my life, Look at me and laugh, She's back in the strife. Don't feel sorry for me, I deserve all I get, Sitting here all alone, Torn, battered and wet. May the world hug you today, With it's warmth and love. I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart, That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world, Wishing you well and wishing you love...... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

I really like your poem! You shouldn't let anything get you down, no matter what! Just grin and bear it, cause you know, in the end, you'll be the one that comes out on top. |

It's amazing how at times we can see ourselves being tortured by others and feeling like we are the littlest of person walking the earth. Wondering why we even try, when no one really cares if we do or don't, never mind if we make it or not. We write hoping someone will see magic in what we say, and all for not cause it's all just yesterday's garbage waiting to be recycled into the big bin in the sky of sky's we call heaven. We're all left to be our own judge and jury when the rest of the world snivels at us from their pedestals. |

What happened to you could just as easily happened to me, my sister. I have not looked for any place out side of Passions in which to publish my work. If and when I do, I could very easily fall prey to the same thing you did. It is because we have no experience with these things. E-publishing is even a scarier place then sending endless letters to publishers. DO NOT berate yourself Lisa. It is nievity and not ignorance, there is a huge difference. Chin up girl. Thinks will get better. As long as you learn a lesson from this, you shall be triumphant. Research any possible publishers before submitting.  |

The title was an eye-catcher!! What are you up to, Isis? I hate this feeling, it's one I have felt every once and then. But who cares about fame, standing tall in society, as long as you are a happy person? I'd not ignore, but it had better not make me feel insignificant... a big society can make one feel insignificant to his/her peers but....you are your worst critic, and I'd place a wager that this was what happened in this poem you just wrote. You just criticized yourself the same way I used to in my classes, against those future Ivy-league students .... but to hell with fame....be happy, without fame. Write, write, write..... |

Don't feel bad Isis....I too fell victim to a poetry contest that turned out to be much less than what I expected. Don't let it get you down, the only one you have to please with your writing is you. And I find your poetry to be very well written and a joy to read! |
