             When a Child Dies

                I won't say
             you'll get over it
             because you won't
that kind of hurt never leaves

                  I won't say
             I know how you feel
               because I don't
            I'm not in your place

                  I won't say
your other children will comfort you
             because they may not
           there may not be others

                 I won't say
       never mind, you'll have another
          because that won't help
another will not replace the one lost

                I won't say
          pull yourself together
because I haven't been in your shoes
           or understand your pain

                  I will say
I'm here, I care, anytime, anywhere
I'll cry with you, we can talk about the child

          I'll share in your grief
               and memories
and your burden I'll try to ease
               I'll be there

moving piece.  your friend is lucky.  recently i had a friend lose her unborn baby and it killed me along with her.  i wrote a piece called "prayer for baby" about it.  its truly sad to lose a child whether unborn, or at anytime in their life.  i cant imagine.  great piece.

As a parent - I can say the death of a child is my worst fear.  In knowing parent who have lost their children, I can say there truly isn't much one can say.... it's purely wrong in nature to have it happen this way.  It's devistating.  Your poem offers all one truly can.  It's beautiful and sincere.  Bless you, Danny.

It's nice to know that you have someone to be there for you, care, and all that, specially when a loved one has passed.  Really nice poem, yet so sad.  Much love, One love, PEACE

Danny what a beautiful poem, what a lovely heart you have.  As you know from the pic I have a son.  I couldn't even begin to grasp the pain of losing him, I reckon if I did, I'd go insane, I don't know how any parent could ever get over it.  I lost an unborn daughter and that was hard enough, I hadn't spent years with her or anything.
How old are you Danny, just wondering...

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Danny,
What a tender and caring piece.  You are a sweet man. I know how you feel about your own daughter.  Bless you for being there for someone in need.  Peace to you, friend.

I just read another poem about loosing a child, and now this.  I'm crying buckets now.  This was very touching, Danny.
