~In The Distance~

There is a distance in the space between us...
now feeling chained by what use to set us free,
doubt and discontent only add to the misery...
and I can't see you anymore...thru the distance.

There are lies in the space between us,
trust and faith have passed us by...
to the point we cant even look each other in the eye.
I don't believe in love anymore...its off somewhere in the distance.

There is anger in the space between us,
compromise has lost its grace,
resentment grows and takes its place.
There is a rage deep inside of me...from its hold...I need to find distance.

There is pain in the space between us,
old wounds and old scars...forever bleed,
did we mistake love for an aching need.
I need release from this agony, healing is somewhere...in the distance.

There is loss in the space between us,
patience and passion lost to living a lie,
hearts break, dreams fade, then die.
There has already been so much taken,
my past follows me ... into the distance.

There is an emptiness in the space between us,
in my heart there's just vacancy ...
loneliness keeps me company,
with nothing left to hold us here...
its safe to say ... we wont make the distance.

There is silence in the space between us,
the words to save this just cant be found...
listen close...as this love leaves...it makes no sound...
and I can hear someone else calling to me...off in the distance.

Janet Marie

Janet Marie this is lovely.  You have spoken of all the doubts, the loss of trust, the pain, the anger, and the loneliness that I have been experiencing for quite a while now.  I offer my sympathy to you I know it is a very hard journey. The last four lines build up to such an intensity.  All hope is gone for the old relationship and yet there is still hope for a new relationship.  I especially like  "as this love leaves it makes no sound...and I can hear someone else calling to me off in the distance."  Very nice hon.  I wonder if the one that left me ever loved me in the first place.  I don't think so or why was she so unhappy with me?
Congratulations on post number 1000.  You have posted some fabulous poetry and this is one of your best.  I will award you a prize and its red and shaped like a heart. (laugh)

1000 posts, how do you do it?
Are you living some reflection of me, jm?  Your words, my thoughts, can't tell you how much your poetry means to me.
Another fabulous piece by a sensational poet.

  Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

Amazing the amount of space distance can take up... more amazing is how full emptiness can feel. Not fufilling, but full, an all encompassing feeling that devours and destroys. Whoa, I'm going off the deep end here. Well done.

Very, very moving piece.
There is pain in the space between us,
old wounds and old scars...forever bleed,
did we mistake love for an aching need.
I need release from this agony, healing is somewhere...in the distance.

Very cool variations of repetitive phrases. And the emotional wallop...what can i say?

"patience and passion lost to living a lie".
strong feeling here for sure.  Really enjoyed reading this because you express so well the feelings when time and feelings place distance between people.
Nice work.

This was amazing Janet...you introduced me to my feelings in this one.  I find myself in the distance...wondering why it seems to tear everything apart.  I appreciated this poem very much

I had noticed you had passed the 1000 mark.
Isis is proud of you.  Isis congratulates you.
And I'll take this opportunity to say in such a short time you have become a valued friend in our Passions family.  You are always great responding and welcoming people
etc.  Thanks hon.
CONGRATS

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

thank you my sweet...coming from you that means A LOT   and I feel so grateful to be a part of this special place...
love ya, JM

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch
You never knew what I loved in you
I don't know what you loved in me
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be
