AND FOR WHAT...

Well I've walked the painted desert,
And I delved forbidden seas.
I've stood high, king of the mountain,
Just to be brought to my knees.

I've seen God's rise from the ashes,
I've seen stars fall from the skies.
I swore I saw forever once,
But only through another's eyes.

I've felt love and I've felt passion,
And a billion emotions in between.
I've touched the tail of a tiger,
Laid in the satin sheets of a queen.

I've been bound by sacred circles,
Cursed by powers higher in might.
I've sought shelter in Darkness.
I've danced with eagles in flight.

And I've carried this cross of shame
To a self-dug grave, it's true.
A crown of thorns for thirty pieces of silver
And a kiss on the cheek from you.

I read poetry, so many each day, knowing that a rare post will stop me and take me away to where that poet goes, to reach greater understanding.  This one took me for a ride.  What a trip.
Michael, this one I enjoyed so much!

M,your talent for creating imagery and expressing your vision is SO evident in this piece..this is exceptional...once again.(smile)jm

 ...every moment of every day...
your still with me in every way.
every poem and song...
every rhyme and verse...
your still here...like a beautiful curse.

I can feel the heartache in this piece Michael ....  it is beautiful, as always ..
The last stanza is amazing .....

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!
