The Pain Of Loosing Your Best Friend

Peeling back your eye lids
I still can't see you
And you, my dead,
friend,
Can no longer see me
Once so close
We didn't have to see
To feel eachother's emotions
And touch eachother's soul
Now you've seemed to die away
Someone I do not know
Floating on a sea so far
I can't reach you with the longest oar
I'm on a raging sea
When you float freely on
Water over my head
Drowing in my own misery
Without you
So even now as I peel back your eye lids
As you lie here on the deck
Of this ship on this calm ocean
I can't see you
I want to see you!
I want to see you!
PLEASE!
I cry into your eyes
No realization, no awaken
My dead friend....
You'll never awake
You'll never be my friend again.
Will you?

this is emotional, powerful, and intense, i'm sorry your going thru this. take care, janet marie

When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger...
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool
So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life
Like a fountain from a pool.

the first picture in my head was that of my best friend and as i read the poem i thought about how it would kill me to lose her in any way whether physical or mental, emotional.  great piece, pulled my emtions right out of me.

You have lost her physically but not emotionally in the heart and memory she will always be with you.  You know have another angel in heaven watching over you.
I'm so sorry for your loss..

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

I know exactly where you are...It is just such a painful experience, to have known and trusted someone with our very souls only to have them stomp on them.  I hope things can be straightened out between the two of you, it's such an awful place for you to be.  Your poem was so wonderfully descriptive, and full of emotions, thanks for sharing it.

I probably should have fully explained when I posted this.  I didn't physicaly loose my best friend.  She did die though, the friendship did, because there is nothing left, no connection, and that hurts just as much as if she would have died.  Thanks for your heartfelt replies. I really appreciate them.  It is so hard, because people change when you don't, and you can't even help that.

This is powerful, Joy.  But realize you will hold the friendship forever...the body is dead but the soul is eternal.  Take pleasure in the happiness you shared while the two were one.
