As I lay bleeding at your hands
after years of meeting your many demands
I wonder
why it hurts me so,when now you say you have to go.

I cower, sobbing at your feet
and wonder, then, who I will meet , to comfort me
and chase the pain.
And teach me how to trust again.

And after many years of this,
your cold denial...
your lifeless kiss...

I pick myself up from the ground, open my eyes,
and look around.

There is a whole world I have missed
while pleading for one loving kiss !

I need NOONE to comfort me, or heal my pain.
Or help me trust.

I need only take a breath, and know that God
will do the rest.

For as I lay bleeding at your hands
after years of meeting your demands...

There was something I could not see.

That God had put his trust in me !

Beautiful Jocelyn!!  After this has done the rounds here you should post it in Spiritual.
We ARE never alone when you put your love and faith in God.  ***** Five stars for you

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

excellent poem of inner strength, and faith... very well written and expressed...continued healing to you
take care, janet marie

When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger...
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool
So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life
Like a fountain from a pool.

BRAVO!  I love poems when the poet realizes that they had the strength all along.  You, Jocelyn, have said it so well, so poetically with the "as i lay bleeding at your hands."  A great way to say what you feel.

This is really good Jocelyn.  So sad as well.
Sorry you had those wasted years and I hope things are getting better.

Danny,
Thanks, Pal.  I never look at time on earth as being wasted.  We are all here, serving a purpose, and learning.  I've written a poem about that, i'll post it later, ok ?
Later, Dude
Jocelyn

Wonderful writing...and I am way to familiar with that lifeless kiss.   Fantastic line..."There is a whole world I missed..while pleading for one loving kiss."  I wasted five years of my life begging for that loving kiss.    James

This is such a profound TRUTH you have come to.  How great to put it into words!
