My rage is a river, and it is deep
Unto this predestined course I keep
The water is dark, bubbling, and hot
As to where I rise and flood, I heed not
Then I subside, concealing mighty wrath
Only to rise again; drowning all in my path

My rage is a volcano lying in wait
Ancient guardian, full of unbridled hate
People near spark my killing lust
I spit forth ashes of dark choking dust
Then I explode in molten fury
Raining death, I become judge and jury

My rage is a hurricane pounding the shore
Gaining speed, building power all the more
I blacken the skies and deafen the ears
With my cold breath, like cutting shears
Twisting and spinning my way onto land
I hold all in the palm of my closing hand

My rage is a terrible earthquake
I make the land shiver and shake
Tearing down man-made trees of steel
Opening my mouth to taste my meal
No discrimination, only un-sated appetite
I make everything tremble at my might

My rage is time itself most of all
I make noble civilizations rise, then fall

the imagery in this is excellent...and the emotions are well expressed...

You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name
And know my love and my desperation were one and the same...
Baby it's alright...
Take this pain and all this sadness
It's alright
Take this rain
You're going to be free...

You are too funny, and too kind JM. This is yet another high school one, written at first while i was really pissed, but the imagery of natural disasters as metaphors overwhelmed me and i ended up just writing a poem kinda tongue in cheek.
I've got LOTS more. At least 13 years more...*L*

When you see that kind of rage in a person, it is frightening to think someone can be filled with all that anger and hate.  But it is even more frightening when you feel it growing inside yourself.  You get eaten by it and it takes forever and a day to squelch it.  I am still trying, there are bits still laying around in my soul.
