The dark desolate tomb held her soul.
No lock or key would free it.
Who placed the boulder there, no one knows.
For she says he shall remain nameless.
Yet in her mind, he is vivid.
As real as life can be.
Flaming red hair and mysterious eyes.
Burning into her soul, laying her naked.
Just as she was to confess,
confess to him her emotions,
the boulder dropped.
It found its mark.
And she was left alone.
Broken hearted,
Locked in a desolate tomb.

you have perfect timing...
I was just reading your replies to my poems...sorry to make ya relate so much...guess we've traveled down some of the same paths...and tripped over the same rocks...
this poem is very good, great imagery...so descriptively expressed...nice job...more more...

...there are places inside all our souls...
that have never been touched...
there are places inside our hearts...
that need to be loved this much...

How terrible is the emptiness we feel when we give our love only to have our heart handed back to us in tiny, little pieces.  It's amazing how such a wonderful emotion (love) can leave one devastated and feeling like they have been left to live in an empty, "desolate tomb".  You have spoken well of a pain that we have all felt.

This was a great analagy, Well done

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

A very interesting way to describe the process one goes thru for a broken heart.  James

Well thanks guys, here I stand humble with my hat in hands (that is if I wore one).  My writing comes from somewhere in here.  Thank God it comes out.  Otherwise I'd be downright miserable all the time!     hehe
