So on 18.8.1845,
Edwin and Esther started their love together,
They settled in the Mt Henry/Raymond Terrace area,
To start their lives and family.

Edwin and Esther made a go at farm life,
She was very happy being a farmer's wife,
At times things were hard it's true,
But on the farm there was always something to do.

They had a dozen children,
Edwin dreamed of a larger home for his family,
So on 20th June, 1872,
The family travelled by bullock wagon to find their destiny.

The travelling was hard with 12 children,
The older ones were good and lent a hand,
They lived by their wits and faced the elements,
Until Edwin found and bought their new land.

They settled in a lovely farming district,
In Wyrallah, New South Wales,
Esther was pregnant again,
At times it seemed life goes off the rails.

They were doing well,
Farming successfully,
Esther was pregnant again,
With number 14 you see.

She was now 49,
This would be her last child to bear,
The labour started quickly and horrendously,
She died while laying there.

Edwin had sent his oldest son,
Off at a wild gallop,
To fetch the doctor for his love,
She died before the doctor could arrive.

The 14th child, a tiny son,
Survived this tragedy,
He was my great grandfather,
A founder in our family.

Edwin Perrin never married again,
10 of their children made it to adulthood,
Yet out of all this tragedy,
There did indeed come so good.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

You will notice the name change.  I got it wrong, all these grandmothers, great grandmothers etc.
Elsa was my grandmother, and Webber was my great grandmother's maiden name.
I've gone back and repaired the names in part 1 and part 2.
Sorry if it confused you briefly.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

I could also do a poem about the 14th child, Walter Tulk's (my great grandfather) life if anyone is interested?

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Wel, Lisa, I've read all three parts and this is indeed a wonderful work. It is worthy of all the hard work you must have put into it. Penning the history of an entire family line is such an interesting experience. We can experience life as it was then and what our families went through and endured to keep going and all of the circumstances, coincidences and even pure chance that made everything fall into place to make us what we are today. You are to be commended on a wonderful endeavor

Thanks Lady Bere, JanetMarie, and Balladeer.
Glad you liked them.  They are pretty boring, not really adventurous or anything.
Only a few read them.  But THANK YOU  for reading them

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

Wonderful as always Isis. . . you have the most wonderful way of making what some would think mundane into stories that sing true and make us wonder. . . and the fact that this is your family makes it even more wonderful. . .

I have found much to like about this series and will look forward to hearing more about it. . .

You DEFINATELY can't end it here, Isis.  This is wonderful and inspiring...something to pass down to children.

Keep them coming!  I've read all 3 in the series (how does that sound?)   and this one was the best!  You have a very interesting family story to pass down, as Michael said.

Ok I'll go onto the story of my great grandfather, the story sort of gets less interesting,  after Walter (gg) it was normal people no great adventures but I'll give it a go.
Stay tuned.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......
