I Thought I thought that I knew pain… but I'm gonna have to rethink that whole deal now. I thought I understood punishment in the harshest way from a cruel hand yet I am more so on myself. I thought that loneliness only touched the surface but now I am drowning fathoms below the waves. Yes I thought… guess I better think again. Robert if you can dream; you can fly...if you are flying; you are dreaming. |

We all have to rethink things occasionally Robert. Where we are going, and why? Etc. (HUGS) for the rethinking journeys are never easy. Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Robert... excellent poem of self expression and evaluation, I really liked this one and related to it as well. very good work. take care, janet marie ...found your heart-then lost your lover...licked your wounds then run for cover... take your time...there will be another... and dont make the same mistake twice... unless you can pay the price... Hmmmm...You write to suit my mood these days. (I TOLD you I would read your work!) Sometimes, I think, tho, we all think too much. Sometimes it's just enough to be. |

Very well done Robert. Really liked the lines "I thought that I knew pain..but I'm gonna have to rethink that whole deal now." Also the line "I thought that loneliness only touched the surface but now I am drowning fathoms below the waves." James |

Thanks guys and gals! I know what you mean Serenity.... to just be. Perhaps part of the poet's "disease" is to think too much?? |

Great poem Robert. Maybe the poet "disease" is also our blessing. It allows us to understand ourselves, because we can look deeper. Without darkness there is no light Without the light we cannot see the dark Balance...It heals the soul -- by: LB |

I enjoyed this very much Robert. You brought much validity to this piece. I thought that loneliness only touched the surface but now I am drowning fathoms below the waves. I especially liked that stanza Jennifer [This message has been edited by JennyLee (edited 02-13-2000).] |
