        Does it matter?

Wake up each morning I check my mail...
It’s been over 20 days...
You haven’t said a word...of meaning to me...
This pain keeps growing from deep inside...
Somehow I ‘m not waiting for you...
Strangely a question resides in my soul
Doesn’t it matter...? All the long walks...?

To hear my voice...to listen to me...
To know if I merely exist or am I doing fine?
The rest is now...too much to ask...
Our past is but a fading memory...
The cliché is true...that life goes on
Still the heart ponders...and alternates with every beat
Doesn’t it matter...? We counted the stars...and all those years...?

When tomorrow comes...I’ll still be wondering...
While you just walk out...like before...
You took me for granted...to many times...
But I’m not waiting for my turn...
I’m still in a state of total...shock...
Don’t I matter...at all??

remember even the darkest night has a morning to meet...you'll understand someday...

Walking in similiar shoes, AVANTI, I can only give you the answer, "God, I Hope So."
Great poem, can feel the sadness behind the words.

The past makes us who we are. Everything matters. Every little bit of love we give or receive makes a difference. But you expressed very nicely the despair we feel when it doesn't seem this way.

and for that mistake
I've caused you such pain
that I damn that word."

WOW Avanti...thats 2 beautiful heartfelt poems today... you must be inspired...
ahh sweet inspiration...I'll take it when ever it comes...most the time our BEST work comes from our heart's pain, but I'm always grateful to be able to channel it into something creative.
This one is very good too.

I think everything matters to our hearts.
I hope you will find some comfort for your longings.
