Did not I this day look,
with tears in my eyes, at the sky,
wishing I could fly free
only to realize I couldn't?

At the oceans, I looked
wishing I could swim forever-
what is forever? what is life?
I thought to myself.

I made words come forth
not from the mind, but instead the heart-
I looked, at myself and the world,
in my own heart I searched…

I found an empty heart,
darkness and death reigned-
laughing in enmity
while I dissolved in terror-

I felt death in my body,
in my eyes, and I screamed…
where the laughter was, there
was the abyss…

falling forever in the void-
my heart sank to such depths
the oceans couldn't match…

my mind tricked, succumbed,
tripped… forever falling…
in that emptiness…

Superb...I adore the last lines.
And what an attention getter

Excellent Artur...I can relate to the whole poem almost as if I wrote it myself. Although I don't think it would have turned out as well if I had written it.

Hawkwing, how creative and beautiful.  WIthout sounding possessed or something you works always deeply speak to me..

Art this was excellent...I thought about Abaddon from the bible.  Look it up you'll understand what I mean.

Wonderful piece indeed. I have found those same things when I finally stopped to look within. Funny how it creeps up on you, and how it never really seems to go away completely.

Artur Hawkwing: It is almost like you wrote this poem for me alone. So many times I have searched far and wide, and finally within myself. I have found such loneliness and emptiness, then eventually, hopeliness. Sometimes, I've looked so hard that I have even felt like dying. Thank you for putting my soul into your writing.

Sincerely, Heather M.
