Darkness hemming me in,
No light do I see,
This road I am journeying,
As as hazardous as can be.

I long for precious light,
A saviour to my soul,
A heartfelt kiss goodnight,
Not darkness in control.

I light a candle,
The darkness takes a step back,
Would someone tell me,
Is it I? Is there something I lack?

I gaze into the candle flame,
And journey within myself,
To happy memories of long ago,
That were hiding on the shelf.

The darkness fades,
The light it shines some more,
There is hope awaiting,
If only I can reach the door..

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.

Isis I Love this poem except for one part and I know this is dark passions so you probably got the title right but I would have titled this poem "Shine some more".
Just a thought.    James

Very nice Isis...as always. There is always a spark left...waiting to be a blaze within you...lighting up the sky in all of it's radiance. Just keep trying....you'll find your way...and the doors will be open to you. ((Hugglez))

Loved the scenery..look into a candle, let its light consume you...I am consumed by thousands of candles...I gaze into the suns of a thousand worlds. (stars, I mean)....

Nice, Isis.

My hand grasp the door
Slowly it opens wide
My heart skips a beat
For i've found love inside..

Hum...I think i'm in the wrong forum....to dark in here...My attitude is to "light" and cheery...(must be love)..lol...Must've made a wrong turn some where.

I loved the poem Isis....and the hope (as denise said) that you left in it...

Here's a nice cheery endin' for it...

What?...hehe ..I cant help it...Just trying to livin the place up abit..lol

Now now, we are dark in here please.  I usually add a cheery or hopeful ending, usually!!    I know what you mean though.

I light a candle,
The darkness takes a step back

I'm sending you out a box of candles for those particularly Dark Nights.

The next time you gaze into the candle flame
and journey within yourself. Let it be visions of happiness in the future you see.
