So now you are gone,
You heard another voice.
I listen to the music,
As it remains in my heart.
I feel it and see it,
It speaks to me still.
A part of you remains,
Your soul is with me,
In my head.
We walk the winding road to paradise.
We are perfect,
It is perfect,
All is as it should be,
In the dream that haunts me..
Yet is so beautiful.
Then I awake.
Alone once more.
"Fill the void", I ask the drug,
Yet still it only numbs the pain.

I wrote this one night a few years ago as I unwisely explored various methods of coping with unhappiness. I've sinced learned other less destructive ways to deal. Like having a group of wonderful people to share it with, and who actually understand some of what you are feeling.

Very powerful piece dreemr....the last few lines pulled the piece altogether. I love people's works from life's experiences
