Faceless names, a sea of souls, There I swim without direction. Empty hearts so full of holes, Searching blindly for affection. Distantly I hear you calling, Crying out for hope like me. Reaching out, yet helpless, falling, Into darkness desperately. I turn to run towards the voice. Instinctively I seek its source, For in its quiet beckoning, It draws me like some cosmic force. Then rising from the mist I see, A beacon in this darkest night. Your smiling eyes shine back at me, Your heart becomes my guiding light. Darkness gone, now peace abounds, Eyes now open wide I see. My search is over, life is found. At last, the End of Destiny. Sanity is the playground of the unimaginative. |

This is a lovely piece. I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes. We all wish to find that one that will end our search for love. Thanks for sharing this. |

I loved this, so moving and beautiful, but I do question in the end, it is not an end to destiny but only the beginning... Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Poignant piece. Destiny is a fickle mistress though.... Jenny Words bloom like flowers that seem astonished at being born. L. Pirandello 16th Century Dramatist |

Great piece, dreemr. I flailed in that Darkness many moons myself. I can truly appreciate the beauty in finally finding smiling eyes upon you. Beautifully done. Michael |

Dreemr don't take my earlier response the wrong way. An end to that destiny but still the beginning of another, know what I mean? This was superb, out of darkness into light. Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Isis, I knew what u meant and I didn't take it the wrong way And as futile as it is to fight this, it is still frustrating not to have control, to know that our plights are in the hands of that "fickle mistress" So when at last she allows us a conclusion to our quest, I'd rather bask in the light of victory for a while before I set out on the next. Or better yet, forgo the rest and not tempt her whimsy any further. |

Great poem. I knew from the beginning "faceless names..." that I would like this poem. The imagery and personifications made this poem really beautiful. Keep up the good work. ~nicnac8 |
