I'm not really wanted,
My light could burn out so easily,
No one would hear the gentle sigh,
As life and breathe passed out of me.

In the coffin all dark confines,
My fear it knows no bounds,
I'd be screaming with each shovel full of dirt,
And no one would hear those desperate sounds.

The cemetary would be empty,
The prince of darkness would say the eulogy,
And some faceless demon would escort me,
On my road to eternity.

No flowers, angels or harp song for me,
Only stifling darkness would I see,
And Lucifer would be waiting,
To rape and torture me.

My sentence would be eternal despair,
Never again to see the light of day,
Never to know a moment of peace,
For my sins it is now time to pay.

I'd be gone,
And not one tear would be shed,
For no one really notices the passing,
The departure of the living dead.

P.S.  JUST TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY I SHALL EXCLUDE PASSIONS FROM THIS SCENARIO. OK

Winged One--
Feeling a bit down of late? I am quite sure I have had these same thoughts most recently. I am going to drag on through, though. Never fear. I wish for you the same. See you on the other side of sadness.

Deep Blue, just travelling that old roller coaster of life, you have the good and the bad.  The good is waiting for me with the sunrise.  Missed you my friend. ((HUGS))

If you were within reach I'd SMACK you for this one, Isis.  You know better I hope.  You'd be more than missed in this forum alone.

Isis,
This was very thought provoking for me. I have had these feelings many times. And at the times when they were most intense I actually had fleeting thoughts of bringing this about (if u know what i mean) just to see if my fears were correct. But thats the kicker, we would never know who misses us, and even we could in fact look up from the grave to find out how many friends and loved ones we truly have by how much they would greive our passing, what good would it do us then?
Just some thoughts   Thank you for the poem.

We will never know will we, but it is an interesting topic.
Here's a negative for you,  you all would miss me sure, I know this in my heart, but you are all in America, and would be unable to come to my funeral, so then as I said it would be small and lonely.   It sux that a major part of my family are so far away....

Comon Isis...is this for real...how do you come up with stuff like this.  I'd miss you cause I look at your smiling face every now and then to cheer myself up although I don't visit passions dark as often as open poetry...sometimes its interesting, you know like when you go to a movie..sometimes you want a comedy, sometimes love stories..like those Julia Roberts movies,   sometimes suspense, sometimes action or dark movies.. Why don't you put an ad in the newspaper listing the web site to get more writers from Australia.  Just a casual suggestion. One more suggestion.  Try reading Stendhal's book called Love or De L'Amour...try thinking about love a little bit...write a poem about love..enough about death cause it will come soon enough for all of us. And you're probably going to tell me you have already written plenty of poems about love, right.  Before I go a silly joke for you.  What would Elvis be doing if he were still alive today?  He'd be scratching on the inside of the coffin and singing "Let me out of here today...cause I got a hunka, hunka, burnin' love to give away."    Take care.    James

You would indeed be missed my kindred. . .

I do not know what it would be like without you. . . and I don't think that I would ever want to find out. . .

Strength to you my friend. . .

Gee what a reaction...
I am loved by all the tributes and loving messages you have all given me thankyou.
James my friend i LOVE love, and think about it constantly and feel it many times a day, when I look at my son, when with family or friends, or my loved ones here at Passions.
You should know as a poet, sometimes the pen is the master and you just write, you have no control, that is what this was.  I am happy for now at least.  Thanks for the concern.  I'm touched
Sven I'll always have you I know and for that I'm forever grateful.

Isis please don't misunderstand me I enjoyed your poem..it was wonderful..you just caught me in a playful mood.   My thoughts were not to discourage you from writing dark poetry, it was to encourage you to share your Love with us.   I confess I have not read all your writings so it wasn't really fair for me to comment like I did.  I do know from experience that our writings can reflect personal experiences we are living.  So I was just concerned about you.  Take care,  James
