My name is Tasin (pronounced tay-sen) Ray Dyess (pronounced dice). I'm 19 years old. Already said this... I'm mute/can't talk. You could say I have been through a LOT in my lifetime, especially reading from my last posts. I love to write poetry on True stories. I play in a band called Dragon 5. I do guitar and keyboards. Don't do vocals.. hehe. I love to watch the sun set and the sun rise, makes each night and day more beautiful. I love to read Anne Rice novels. My favorites: Servant of the Bones & Memnoch the Devil. If you love a GOOD book read em! I teach private guitar lessons, for free =)Before i write another page about me... i wouldn't mind hearing more about everyone else.

Lovely to meet you Tasin. My name is Dannielle, no big mystery there. I am a 21 year old single mom. Been hurt and disappointed too many times, and seen alot of people through alot of things. I too write from my own personal experiences and emotions. Thank you so much for this poem. And it has been my pleasure to be able to have experienced your talent.
BTW- what kind of music does your band play? Just curious.

I guess what today's age would consider "Oldies" or "Classic Rock" Mainly bands like Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zepplin, and for today's type music I wrote most of the songs including: Angel In My Dreams, Child At Play, Passion & Warfare, and many others, I usually keep alot of the stuff i write online at A little index of just me playing around. Sooner or later i'll put up some full songs.

A pleasure to meet you.  My name is, don't tell anyone, Thaddeus.  I'm a married father of three, community activist, posterboy for adults with ADD without hyperactivity.
I am a sporadic contributor to a couple of forums here.  they are all very welcoming and very interesting.  I'm in my thirties and a big fan of classic rock, folk, real old stuff blues, classical, jazz -Elvis Costello, Sleepy Labeef, David Wilcox, Richard Thompson, Lita Ford, The Pretenders, etc... Aw, I'll listen to, and read, about anything.  The poetry here is fantastic - so many viewpoints and perspectives.
Have you read "A Prayer for Owen Meaney"?  It's a great exploration about the mystery of loss and finding meaning, sort of.
Again welcome and thanks for sharing.

I would love to see some of your songs posted here. Sounds like good stuff you play. I like Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd, and a whole bunch of other stuff. My music tastes flow on a pretty wide range. My favorite band is Tool. Heard of them? Anyway I was just curious cuz I've been meeting alot of musicians lately. Being a big music admirer, I get curious about what the aspiring musicians are comeing up with. Thanks for sharing!

If it is allright with everyone I would rather not tell my name.  I will tell you that I am a 25 male just trying to express himself.  I have been writing for about 3 and half years now.  What started making me write was the fact that I could not talk to people about what I thought.  I was not ready yet to share with them.
I Like all types of music my favorites are the Doors and Floyd.  I listen to classic rock the most.   I do not like rap, at least to listen too, but I love to dance so then I'll listen.  Let's see oh yeah I've been getting into classical and blues music too.  Gosh I'm writing a book here.  Anyway nice to meet you all!!!!! I hope this post gets alot of hits!!

Ok... nice to 'meet' you all. ChainedAngel... wonderful idea. I'm jealous I didn't think of it myself!! I'm Krissy... and I'm LITTLE! I'm 16 and I'm like 5'1 1/2" (and yes, the half inch IS important!!) I've been writing for about five years, I started because I had very deep feelings that could be expressed to no other than my paper from my pen. I like all kinds of music, but country is my favorite. ZZ Top and Led Zepplin are playing a concert in my area this weekend, but unfortunately, it's sold out. Owell. But anyways... Walter Poe... does it really fly well with the females?  (I hafta admit... yeah)   Looking forward to hearing from more of you!!  ~ Lil OnE ~

Thank you for the dedication and it is a very nice dedication at that. I certainly do feel as though we are family here. My name is Jaime but I prefer to be called Maharet because Jaime is just too common for my taste. Maharet is also a nickname given to me by a special friend of mine. And for anyone who's ever read any of Anne Rice's work, you know the name as a an ancient vampire. But I don't mind nicknames so feel free to make up whatever it is that you want..I already have so many that one or two more wouldn't hurt.
Nice work and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I appreciate the thought.

Wow, wasnt expecting to haar soo much about everyone. Good thing is a majority of you have good taste in music. Led Zepplin!!
Lil OnE - I went to the ZZ Top - Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in austin late december. It was a really cool concert.. Try catching up to the ticket salers outside of the arena. They usually have extra tickets.
Micheal - Considering i'm not that great of a poet and still in the learning process (*winks at Isis*) I take that very dear to my heart. Don't know why I wrote this poem. Guess i was just overwhelmed by the support from everyone here and just felt like giving a little something back

I post under my real name, I'm from South Carolina.  I'm a 25 year old divorced mom of two boys, ages 4 and 5.  I rarely post or reply here in Dark Passions.  As one poet put it, "tugging at heartstrings" seems to be my forte.  As for favorite music, I stick mainly with country these days, but also love 80's music (so shoot me!).  Meatloaf, Journey are two faves too.

I mainly write about personal experiences, usually my children or my students (I work at a private boarding school for troubled students).

I'd like to invite you to look around at some of the other forums too.  There are a lot of great writers in here.  Reading their work will help to improve yours, give you new insights.

I expect more from you people

For me it was a lost love at first but then I started to really find quetions within!!  Then the words just started flowing....and flowing...and flowing....Anyway I find it easier to tell my thoughts to paper then to people somtimes!!
Not because they wont listen but they wont understand me!!
I think I write alot of my stuff to the UNKNOWN ONE listening to me!!!

What started me writing a toughie??  Love of the written word and poetry I suppose, I was only a young teenager.
I write now to vent anger, hurt, dissapointment, or share love or something special happening in my life. A therapy almost LOL
I too wish everyone who posts in DP will write a little about themselves in here, so we can all get to know each other together.

Hi everyone, My real name is Kathy. I am divorced the mother of two grown children.
I live in a small town in central Maine. I have been told I am a compassionate person who has to big of a heart. I use to take in a lot of strays, whether it was an animal or somebody elses kid who needed a place to sort things out. I know I am a strong willed person who stand up to my beliefs in life.
I started writing around 12. Was totally fascinated by all types of literature. My mind fails me now and then about authors. My speeling and grammical skills are horrid! I sit here now with a dictionary at hand. I guess that is it.
Chainedangel-thank-you for the lovely poem and welecome to our family.

I began writing about a year ago as a comfort to myself because it seemed as though my life was crumbling around me. I had always made up stuff in my head or made up songs but I would never write it down. So I just started writing. I know that it's not the proper format but it's from the soul and that's all that matters to me. I've always been a very emotional person who thought way too much about everything. And I needed a place to put them. My friend introduced me to Passions and I've been posting ever since. For anyone who doesn't know already, I'm also Dark Enchantress. I'm 14 *gasp* I think I'm the youngest one here. I'm not married, divorced, widowed, and I have no kids. I think all that was kind of obvious. I'm an explorer at heart but technically I'm from Maryland. I love art...every form of it in creation. Lately I've been getting into photography and I'm redesigning my bedroom. I'm also going snowboarding/skiing sometime in Feb. I'm excited...love trying new things. Well, I think I've been taking up enough time.

Here's another idea to keep the thread going..   What things are you changing in your life to make it better?  For this is a necessary thing in life, just like spring cleaning.

I myself are reconstructing my heart and soul, sharing more, loving more, learning more.  God I sound like a hippie!! There is no peace within until all within is mended

O.K. My turn again. I actually didn't really attempt poetry until I found Passions. I needed a release and someone to listen. I figured what better croud than a bunch of strangers?      But I have made some friends here. And this place has helped to renew a bit of my spirit, and for that I am grateful.
As for what I'm doing to change myself? I think I'm starting to loosen up a little to people. Showing who I am again and not caring so much what people think. If your going to like me, your going to like me. If not, it's better that way then. I have kept myself closed off for a long time and I'm making my way out of this shell I've been hiding in. So, that's what I'm changing Isis. Thanks for asking!
Oh yeah, and I've decided I am no longer going to put up with people walking all over me. Time for me to start standing up for myself and my beliefs, I only have myself, and I am the only one who can protect myself!.  (just had to add that in there.)

Hello, I am 22 year old male... love to have fun, joke around, make people laugh and hide all my problems.  Love to help people, be there for people, I always have seemed to be "the one" people come to with their problems I guess... I love that.  Love to be there for someone.  But, at the same time, dont like showing my "tender" side to many... just people I am very close with or dont really know.  Too much of a "hardass" all around I guess to let people know I am soft inside   LOL  Love all kinds of music, like wild parties, wild women  , and spending time with someone I Love.  Confused yet?? LOL  Yes, I am different I guess... Wild on the "edge" yet very responsible and caring... Hardassed "tough guy" type but very emotional and "soft" at times.  I dont know, I'm just me and content with that fact  Very open and honest, straight forwards, all the things I want people to be with me. < !signature-->

Well Hello again ChainedAngel and all,
I have not been here that long but must say that I do love it here. I have nto posted for a bit due to the fact that I have simpley been at a lose for words.
I can tell you that I am a 30 year old female from Pennsylvania. I would rather not tell my real name at this time, but maybe in the future I will.
My favorite music..hhhhmmm, well I like Godsmack, Ozzy, Aerosmith, Morphine, and many others...but my all time favorite would have to be Alice Cooper...all of his stuff , the older the better.
I started writing because I have always been a bit different than others and no one understood...we all have a dark side, but most will not accept it or learn to enjoy and deal with it...I saw nothing wrong with liking my dark side so others found me a bit odd...and I like to say the things that most others only think of in thier nightmares!
There really was no one who started me on writing, I just did it. I had a substitue teacher in high school who was a poet and had published books and he told me if it is what I wanted and felt inside to never give up. So I have written to this day and will for the rest of my existance.
Hope this helps to tell a bit of myself as has been requested.
There are few words that touch me deep within, but ChainedAngel seems to do it every time.....**smiles slightly**

a_alibaster... What part of Pennsylvania do you live in? I live in Middletown... if you aren't familiar with that, I live like two minutes away from HIA (Harrisburg International Airport) Isis... to answer your question about what we're all doing to improve our lives and to hopefully make them better... I am honestly able to sit here and tell you that I have given up all means of caring what people think about me. If you don't like me, don't talk to me. If you don't like the way I look, don't look at me. I really don't give a damn anymore. I am also spending more time with my fiancee. He is very supportive of me and I love him so incredibly much... he's the one. Another thing is that I am writing a WHOLE lot more, reason not only being because it's a wonderful release for me, but I love doing it. (it also helps me to avoid my #1 enemy... self mutilation)   I'd much rather avoid him than to be lost in his powerful, unbelievably blank-yet somehow encompassing stare. I go to a vocational-technical school, where I take outdoor power equipment... we fix all kinds of small gas engines.   Not a stereotypical thing for a 16yr. old female to do... because I love being different and not doing what everyone expects of me. If anyone has ever seen the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, many people have said that I remind them of 'Kat' - the so called "haneous bitch"- and I love the title and warmly welcome it!   hehe. Anyway... I'm gonna go now... looking forward to many more replies! back to the top

Well, since everyone is telling something about themselves, I'm Wendy (big suprise there), known affectionately to my close friends as "wen."  I love to write all kinds of things... narratives, short fiction, plays, poetry... I'm 19, a sophomore in college.  I'm currently a full-time student who is successfully hanging on to 3 jobs and her 3.0 GPA by the skin of her teeth... (That's supposed to tell you that I'm very committed to my responsibilities, or something.)  I love theatre, music, writing, art... and I pursue these in spite of my limited talents.  I love dancing in the rain, laughing, taking brisk walks in the snow, going to the SPCA to play with the cats, and my fish Cupid. (since we aren't allowed to have cats in college)  AND, since I am also writing a book here, I will leave you to your own devices. My e-mail is skaia7@hotmail.com, and I love to get mail so you can send me a line anytime.  Thank you all for accepting me here.  It's really great.   -wen

Hi my name is Jason.  I am a 19 and student at Youngstown State U. in Ohio.  Go ahead make the Ohio jokes. Ha ha. I have been writing since summer of 97.  I suppose i started after a bad relationship and could not tell anyone how i felt.  That pride thingy.  Anyway I have been looking for a site like this for a couple months and am glad to have found it.  There is much more talent here than i will ever have, maybe some of it will rub off on me.

You can’t get much better than the words of  Bob Dylan and the music and vocals of Jimi Hendrix.  “ All Along the Watchtower ” has always been my Anthem.  Also  like Neil Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd ( Free Bird ), The Doors of course, Traffic, Zepplin and a list of others that fell into obscurity.

I started my meager attempts at poetry on 11-3-99, the day I registered at Passions. I don’t remember why I posted in Dark instead of Open, but I just had the feeling that Dark was where I belonged. It was always the generous comments from JennyLee, Michael, DeepBlueMe and of course Isis that made me keep on trying and kept me coming back. I’m a free verse kind of guy. Never much liked the rules or structure.
My home page carries my thoughts on the way I write. It's called Poetry Unplugged. The site is used more for testing Java scripts that I am interested in, rather than displaying my poetry. I thought some content would legitimize it, so I dumped my stuff up there. The poetry is just about everything that I have written in Dark since I started.  I guess you could say Passions has given me a hobby and keeps me off the streets.

Thanks to you, " The Dark Crew " for making this such a great place to hang.

Oh Yea!! my name.

Changed it from Double Trouble, to FreeByrd. Some copyright infringement issue with Skynyrd's Innyrd's. Such is life.< !signature-->

There must be some kinda way out of here... say the joker to the thief

There's to much confusion, I can't get no relief

I like that. Cheese you off. Hope you don't mind if I use that here in the U.S. The only cheese I am concerned with is the type that's on my pizza. Or when someone cuts the cheese ( This means to pass wind ) Lisa.

I can't stand Plastic, Butt ( trying to keep it kleen ) kissing, lying, back stabbers.

Chained Angel...and Others.  *smile*  Hey ya'll.  I'm Carman (armanca is my name in pig lattin...clever huh   )  I'm 22/F from good ole Arkansas.
I've been writing for about 8 months or so.  What started me writing? Love gone bad... an abusive relationship with my boyfriend of 5 years.  What am i doing to make my live better?  Well I finally left the sob.  But it's quite a struggle not to give in...and go back to him.  And that's the sad part.
My attempt with other men...seem to wind up at the same place.  I keep picking "kris's".  So, I'm about to give up on love.  I don't think I know the difference between good and bad relationships.
So, I'm trying to finish school.  I"m a senior at the university of Arkansas at Little Rock.  Getting my biology degree...hoping to go to med school someday.  If not...perhaps the field of molecular biotechnology.
OK Ok...so I may not be as creative as I would hope.  I think it has something to do with the whole left/right brain thing.  And of course I am a biologist...not many will you find knee deep in poetry.
Now days I am just living life one day at a time.  I write a lot about Kris.  I don't know that his inspiration is such a great thing...more tragic.  I've posted here before...but most of my stuff are back in the archives.
What else am i suppose to be answering?  Nice to meet you all...and everyone is quite supportive in here.  Especially you Isis.

Boy that steams me too...  One more thing that doesent make me mad but hurts is people (women especially) who do not share their feelings or thoughts.  But I hardly ever get mad but when I do watch out!!!!!!! Self righteous, bible thumpers who seem to think that I need saved for some unknown reason. Two-faced ppl, backstabbers, Liers, Snobs, ppl who think that ppl like myself are some sort of sub-humans, I may be different or a "freak", but that does not make for an aweful existance, woman abusers(was with one for years), and girls who think they will die if they get dirt on them.....Wusses!!!
One last thing....humanity in general makes me want to hurl....it has to stereo-type every one....FREAK FREAK FREAK......
Ok, I am done bitching now....apologies if I offened any one....I DID NOT MEAN TOO...
So far, I think, this place is one of the best that I can think of , filled with wonderful ppl who in no way fall into my explinations of society.....and for that I am greatful beyond belief......Many thank yous to all of you ......simpley for being as you are!!!

Well written AA.  I should add I hate those who pretend with emotions, love or friendship and really aren't true to you, or there when you need them.
You can love many share it round, those who refuse to welcome love and light in their life don't deserve your friendship in the first place.

It takes alot to make me mad.  The only  person that is able to make me mad everyday is myself.  For other people my tolorance seems higher but there comes a point when i tolorate no longer.  For example when you move away to school and your the only one that keeps in touch with "friends".  They would never write or call you 1st.  Its always me calling them.  It becomes tirersome and I just can not stand that.   Hmm i feel a poem that needs wrote

ohh yeah not to offend you women any, but women who always date the wrong guy. I seem to be the guy they talk to all the time and i don't mind that.  It is the fact that nine times out of ten they will go out and get another guy just like the one before.  I don't understand the reasoning behind it.

I may change but why try to make me change it only makes me run away.........TO all the women who read this..Know that a man can change but never make him change because he will shell up and leave mentally with you!!! I know that sounds wrong but at least with me I am with you until you until you decide such things for me!!!!! The way to loving me and maybe most men is thru understanding them....and loving who they are then .... then and only then can you break thru what he is all about... OK I just made all women hate me but that is me and that is me!!  Anyway women let us know what goes thru those crooked minds of yours??????< !signature-->

Bojopy my middle name is understanding.  I swear on almighty Isis's grave I have never tried to change a man.
My thing now is the spirituality of a man. Not his religion but his soul, beliefs etc.  A true man cries and isn't embarrassed or ashamed.
The thing for me is the man has to be in touch with his emotions, be interesting, continue to grow as a person etc.  Not just sit and watch football or car racing his whole life.  He should be  passionate about some real things in this world. Not games.
Now all the men will hate me, I don't hate sport by the way, it has it's place.
I like a man with spirit, who laughs to laugh, who appreciates a variety of music, and has a tender heart.
How is that Sir Bojopy?

Sir Bojopy! LMFAO !!!!  I agree with what you said Isis about that whole sports thing... I love watching sports but I tell you I dont have to watch it if you know what I mean!! The older I get the less I watch sports... I have like favorite teams but I dont have to watch them...On the defense of those men who do..  I personnally watch some sports if heart is involved such as playoff time in football and baseball...
I think most men are afraid to show there feminine side so to speak when it comes to all that love stuff... In my case I can share mine but do not try and change my thouhgts or how I express them...  ALSO women let me tell a fact about men you may have not known...."It takes men longer to get over a women then it takes a women to get over a man"  it is a proven fact...  The reason behind it is because men have no one to talk too about it (you know what I mean)...you women can talk about it with your friends but a man is not supposed to with there friends (just the way its always been)
I express myself in poetry and very few people but at least I have an place to release such feelings....and guess what this is another .... goooooooo passionsssss !!!!!!!!
OK women let us know somthing about you or somthing men should know?  Maybe we will figure this whole men and women differences thing!!!! LOL no way LOL

I have been ignoring this reply thing for a while now (Im very ashamed esspecialy as i was asking people to write to it) im sorry about that but im not big on myself as a topic.

What makes me angry?   very little,

bullies (emotional more than physical)
People who hate for no reason (these are terrible)

Unsocial types you know what i mean people who don't have any respect for anyone and act as though everyone is just in their way.

Pride of place in the human race goes to one without a trace,
of subtlety style ego or grace for this position, I wish to say, i would be proud as i am greater than any other face in the crowd

Bojopy, just wondering where you got the proven fact that men take longer to recover from a failed relationship than women?  You have to be able to back such a theory up, you know?  I have to say I disagree, most men just go out and get laid and then they feel better!!    Most men in general ok?

Ok Isis I feel like an idiot now.  I cant remember where I read that but I know it was a study done with an esteemed reference.  Dont worry I'll remember and will get back to you on that.  I have a good idea where I read it but I need to find the books on it so give me a little time on that K?
Just to let you know when a man truelly falls in love (and I mean truelly falls in love)  and they get dumped it is harder for them to get the oppurunity to release his feelings.  He has so many more stages to go thru before he can even talk about it.  For instance, he first goes thru the stage of wondering is there somthing he has done wrong.  Ok right now you say so do women.  But wait think about this women always seem to get the support of friends right away because they look for it not like men.  Men always have to deal with this alone because they are not supposed to need help (u know what I mean).  I tell that first stage alone takes very long ..... and I mean very long!!!!!!!!!!!!  well at least with me..... and I dont even want to get into the whole confidence thing because I think I would bore everyone!!
Ok come on ladies tell us somthin about u us guys need to know?

Okay. . . I feel like I've really missed out here. . . so, let me jump in (even if I am a little late!  LOL)

My name is John and I live here in Michigan. . . I'm 32 and I love everything!  LOL. . . ok, I love poetry, music, art, writing, movies, reading, etc. . . I have far too many interests to actually go into!  But you get the idea!

I have only recently begun writing again, for 7 years I did not write anything, but for the past 6 months, I have been writing almost non-stop!  I knew that I needed a place to share this with, and so I found Passions. . .first entry on the list I found at Excite!  Little did I know that I would meet such wonderful people here (Skyfyre, Michael, poetFemmeFatale, Dark Angel, and way too many others to mention!!) and especially, a kindred heart and spirit in Isis.

It has been wonderful to share my writing with all of you and so wonderful to read all of your writing too!!  This "family" is the thing that I have been looking for for a long time and I don't intend to leave!

Thank you all for your kind words and for your support. . . you have indeed made this "reluctant voice" happy. . .and you all have inspired me in ways that I'll never be able to tell you. ..

I hope that my poems speak to you all in the same way that yours speak to me. . .

Thank you my friends. . .

Soo many replies, i too have ignored this for awhile but now its time to fill ya'll in on the last few subjects....
What "cheeses" me off?  Kids who don't appreciate teachers. I remember when I was in High School, many of the kids did not respect the time and effort put in every day by the teachers of Preschool all the way to College Professors. Without them, we'd be absolutely nothing!!

Another thing is all the new music out there today. For instance: Korn (good at the start, but there music is plain out disrespectful) Godsmack (copycats!!^DOORS^), and the main one>>> Marilyn  Manson. Using satan as a marketing strategy is not good in any way. I listen to some of his music but not to the lyrics. I listen to John5. He's amazing on an acustic.

What got me started writing? No other way to express myself, except for sign language, but thats kinda hard to do with poetry on the internet. The pain & suffering that has built up over the many experiences I've been through in my life, got me into writing poetry to replace hatred towards people. Kind of like my way into life, outside of it.
Oh back to the Manson thing, my quote is a line from a manson cd. Only because it made me think.... and it still makes me think. Read it and ponder the many negotiable point of views from it. It's very deep.  Anyways, my email address is johnclarkdyess@hotmail.com , it's my dad's addy so i rarely check it. Oh and don't put a topic like "Viagra online." Those are a one way ticket to my important info...errr.. trash can.    Looking forward to hitting 100 on this topic. Keep the replies coming!!

poets of dark passions: i'm relatively new in this forum and i've spent a good while now learning about some of you, so even though this will probably never be read, i figured why not send it back up to the top of the list and do my part in working towards the longest string ever on Passions     well, for those of you that may actually read this, here's a bit about me: my name is Jerome Solomon, i am 19 and a college student (sophomore)... you can check my profile for most of that though... i started writing with a 7 page poem for my best friend (and sometimes worst enemy) Sam(modelled after alan ginsberg's "Howl" -- his favorite poem) exploring our 4 year friendship and the ups and downs that went with it... it's entitled "Cadence" and far too long to post here... things that "cheese" me off... very few actually... i have something against idiocy, but i dont hate stupid people, they just get on my nerves sometimes... the only things that can actually upset me are if someone insults 1. my love (person or emotion), 2. my faith, 3. my family & friends... well, i suppose i've rambled enough for now... take care and it was nice to "meet" you all (though indirectly)...

sincerely,

I'm hoping to become a better writer and to become the best writer I can be, and I think that you all inspre me so much, becuase of course you're the experienced ones. You all keep up the great work and its a pleasure to be part of the Dark Passions family, even though I just got here.

Chained Angel i don't want to argue but Godsmack is not a doors ripp off.  They are some of Alice in Chains biggest fans.  They took the name from one of thier songs.  Alice was going to sue them till they heard them play. They liked it and let them keep it. Thus a far cry from the doors.  If anything they would be a AIC rip off

I can't believe that I sat here and read every one of these replies, and even more unbelievable is the fact that I am responding.  I am a 33 y.o woman with 2 great children 12 year old girl and 16 y.o. young man. My husband died in 1992.  I work with bio-medical research animals.  I will be returning to work on Monday so won't be around as much after the weekend.  I just had surgury on both of my arms as I have nerve damage and now I'm feeling better.  I am an avid fisherwoman and can't think of anything better than catching a fish that is as big as my bed.
What really pi**es me off is when my boyfriend catches a bigger fish than I do (Not often LOL)  We are at the point in our relationship that he will let me take my picture with his fish, and the catch is.....I have to cook it and admit the truth if asked!!!!  I'm kind of shy (Haven't responded to anyone yet, but now that I "know" most of you now...I might be able to do that.)  Aside from being a heroin addict I am also anorexic and bulemic and have self injured (Most of which are under control)  I guess that's it.

Hello, all. I haven't been here in awhile, so here I am... What cheeses me off? Lately, everything. My parents, my friends, my fiancee, and basically to sum it all up... my life in general. People who are completely fake are no. 1 on my 'what cheeses me off' list. Also, when people see themselves in you and it scares the hell out of them, and therefore try to make you change. I also can't stand people who say they undersand you and that they know how you feel... THEY DON'T. Owell. It also cheeses me off that my worst enemy is my closest friend. That being mutilation. Also false accusations which have absolutely no basis have the tendancy to piss me off. Anyway... back to the top... ... here we go!!!

You don't know me, but you don't like me.
You say you could care less how I feel.
But how many of you who sit and judge me
have ever walked the streets in my shoes?-Korn

I liked the poem, but after reading about all of you, I almost forgot about it!  My name is Dorothy and I'm 32.  I was never really interested in poetry until I read Shelly's "Love's Philosophy" a few months ago.  Since then I've bought some poetry books and have surfed the web for poetry sites.  I kept coming back to the Passions page and just the other day I happened to click on the forums link on the new menu and I was awed by some of the poems.  I was even inspired to write my first poem ever which I posted and a few of you even said you liked it - which amazes me.  I enjoyed learning a little about all of you and look forward to reading all of your poems!

Hey, I just wanted to join in the conversation. My name is Jessica. I am the youngest here probley...I am 13. I have been writing for about a year. Although I writ a lot now, last year I think I wrote one DECENT poem! But I am getting better. I started writing to express myself because I was really depressed and absolutly nobody noticed when I would cry myself to sleep, then I relized I shouldn't feel sorry for myself or wait for someone to notice. So I took out a peice of paper and tried to write what I felt. It didn't work all I wrote was "mad". I had no clue what my soul was saying until I took time to listen!!
