Blowing breezes
calm thy weary soul
Swim the oceans
which contain the tidal waves
While knocking me about
Breath is stolen
Torn from my chest,
my heart beats its last
Awaken from endless sleep
Arise to the darkest day
The snow bites my feet,
my ears, my fingers, and my lips
Lifeless and pale is the ghost,
seeking life and warmth
in my hallow veins
Consumption has long since begun
Drought do not stangle
Blinded by the blindfold
Rain floods my cracking flesh
In the rainclouds I see my spirit,
stumbling towards the pyre
Through the night I feel the vampires,
beating down the walls of my being
Fire churning and burning
Let my uncontrolable cries
awaken the deaf man

Umm...I just wanted to add something...
Other people know that I write poetry. Other people know that my emotions are very important to me. But nobody cares enough to even ask to read them...to care about what it is that I'm thinking or feeling...
These people are my friends and my family and yet...I have complete strangers reading my thoughts and seeming to care more than they do. I'm not much the type to get openly sentimental with people...believe it or not...but I wanted to thank you. Cuz even sometimes my own words hold no comfort. And unfortunately other than here I have no place else to find it. You listen...and that's what nobody else does for me so I am eternally greatful.

Thank you Bojopy....and yes, I think we all should give thanks to the creator of this wonderful site because it has done more than just allow us to listen...it allows us to connect.

DE- Your words hold so much power. I don't know how the people in your life overlook it. And I'm in complete agreement with both you bojopy. This place has become my comfort . And I am also grateful. I come here to listen and be heard. So, you're welcome and thank you too.

Thank you very much danni. It's upsetting to me that they never care enough to ask...but then again maybe it's my fault too....Maybe I've become far too distant for their taste...and maybe it's the darkness and truth behind my words that frighten them. Who knows...but anyway...
Thank you.

First let me say, this is so very good. Emotions are shining through it.

I can remember when I first started writing many years ago! My family would say,"What,You wrote this?" Still, to this day my Mother thinks I waste my time.
Keep writing and we'll all keep reading

Thank you very much jenny...I always look forward to hearing from you. I started writing when I was 13..which was sometime last year during my little depressionist psycho trip and obviously I didn't stop. I'm glad you still write jenny and I hope you continue to cuz it is never a waste of time.

I understand how you feel, my family is the same way.  I was grateful to find a place that not only accepted my writings, but me as well.  The people here are the only ones who see what I write.  It's nice to see other people who understand.  I really enjoyed the depth of your poem.

Thank you Niemczak...and I agree with you..it's nice to know that someone will always understand and accept us as we are and not expect us to change.
