It happened again,
Only one day's respite,
Can you only go 24 hours,
Without baiting or starting a fight?

And fool that I am,
I allow it to happen,
For in my the seed of hope flourishes,
And my reward for this? Perpetual sadness.

I still long for Utopia,
For that far off land in the sun,
A peace of true beauty and peace,
Where the world's foes are undone.

But alas I shall not find it with you,
Fool, fool, fool am I,
I hoped for a spark left in you,
I should realise there is no soul in you.

Your heart a lump of coal,
Black, hardened and dead,
No emotional, nothing at all,
Too long it's been left unsaid.

You've finally proven to me,
You care not for any of us,
You life among the living a falacy,
Hell's fires have reduced you to dust.

I see only images,
Of past love and life,
Nothing will change can't you see?
Even your immortality is in strife.

Dead heart, dead eyes,
They don't shine any more,
You even forgot how to laugh,
The day you shut the door.

I fear for you,
Only misery awaits thee,
Only pain and lonliness,
What possible future do you see?.

This one screams for the strength to put an end to the current circumstances. Maybe just a little afraid to venture out into the unknown in search of Utopia. The RISKS only make the REWARDS that much sweeter.

You are no fool my friend. . . perhaps just in need of strength. . .

Always my friend. . .

Isis, it is not a foolish thing to love and hope. I have been in your position and it took me four years to find the strength to leave. And two years later I feel I may be finally finding my way to my own utopia! I hope you find your way soon.

Isis,

Indeed, what future can someone see who has a heart of coal and no compassion for others?

Longing for the Utopia, a place to escape?
Countless times have I longed to be in a perfect land far away from my problems, my life.....

A fool?  No, maybe lost in a once strong love perhaps?

Anyway, lovely poem!
