           HOPE

  Like a ray of sunshine
     Peeping through
       a tiny crack

        Comes hope
   When all your world
         Is black

Somewhere there's a future
Beyond those dungeon walls
   Where sunshine knows
      No boundaries
      And hope rains
       Free for all.

-sigh- this is a nice thought that hope will rain free for all.  the poem kind of makes me sad though, because it's not really true

This was beautiful, hope is in all of us, it's just sometimes we forget where to look.

Oh, lily, peek through that dark keyhole, and you might find some hope - truly!  I dared to peek so many times, peering through the darkness, and then, one day, I saw a candle burning softly, moving about - and it proved to be my hope - my joy -

Never give up!  And write, write, write!

For the longest time I lost all hope, now that I have someone special it is starting to come back to me.  Don't stop writing, your words hold a powerful message.

Hope truly is the rays of sunshine peeping through a little crack.  You describe hope perfectly, Steptsong!

Sometimes I just feel that even though there is hope at the end of the tunnel, that tunnel can be so very long and dark, and it can even seem never ending!

Thank you for your comments, I am glad you enjoyed it.  I wrote this at a time in my life when I had just about lost all hope, the last part I had said Maybe there's a future behind the dungeon wall, but recently I changed the last line to read Somewhere as I have found that hope is always there, it's that our view is blocked. I am so glad I found Passions, I love reading all the lovely poetry that you all write.

Septsong, I enjoyed your poem so much, it reminded me of a poem I wrote about hope. I will post it for you some time.

Very Very beautiful.
I feel a sweet simplicity in the words.
