My innocence has ebbed,
It's former life has passed away,
Now only feelings of dread,
Are the beacons showing me the way.

That innocence has kicked the bucket,
No more a mellow soul,
Because of you I now turn the coin over,
And look for the tarnish below.

It struggles to be born anew,
It labours almost daily,
I want to walk the path of enlightenment,
And lessons learned show you aren't the one to save me.

A life of grief and misery,
Too scared to look into the light,
Is this what you want for me?
I battle for the power to fight.

I can't let you kill it,
I won't let you succeed,
I have already surpassed you thy enemy,
My soul is finally free...

Reach inside your heart, that is the greatest gift you can bestow. Merry Christmas..

Stunning work, Isis...

I really love the power in your words, and the strength of that last verse.  You are a true writer and I hope that someday I will be able to match your strength.  Thank you for being an inspiration.

My favorite lines were...

"That innocence has kicked the bucket,
No more a mellow soul,
Because of you I now turn the coin over,
And look for the tarnish below."

Good job once again, Isis!

Isis,
In this poem you make out that it is
the thinker that is always right. You do that in alot of your work, but could it be that the looking under the coin is a way of trying to find ways of attacking to cover up
the thinker`s feelings of possible guilt.

We share the same enemy, I too hope I can surpass it.  Encouraging words.  Well done.
