For my fellow Dark passions poets.  This is a truly dark poem that I wrote last night.  It expresses how I felt at the moment to the last detail, but today I feel a better sense of myself and am clearer about the world.  Enjoy.

Taste the salt tears
Running in streams
Down my flushed face
Anger rising steadily
I cannot keep up with the pace
Pain escapes through me
It's not hard to see why..
My life's a growing struggle,
Each day that passes by

Taste the tears
Still forming
Rolling down my hot cheeks
And I wonder why I still go on...
for weeks and weeks
The bad times are suffocating
The good that has seemed to have disapeered
And my life might soon be over,
That's my greatest fear...

No poetry in magiznes
No novels at my side
No honors or recogntions
Only solitary confinment
Dripping from my pen
Ink like blood
That's lost from my heart
To weak to pump

Outside the growing coldness
Numbs me to my soul
And thawing won't begin
Until I surrvive
The madness.

The madness lives
In every human
But strives in hateful souls
And brings me down with them
To deal out their gold
A treasure found in hatred
A rememberence always
you know...
And when hot tears start to fall
The treasure virus seems to grow.
A way out that's quite easy
Leaves me hanging from a thread
Thoughts of suicide
Racing through my head.

But leave me to my pain now
Hate will never heal
Any way out
of the madness...
Shall be done
So I no longer can feel.

Joy--
I'm so glad that you dont feel like this anymore...yes i agree this is truely dark but i like dark poems...they seem to hold more emotion.  I like how you described it at the end "so i no longer feel"

Joy this was wonderful in it's darkness.  Hate is such a bad emotion, I try never to hate, no matter what.   You don't want to stop feeling though without feelings there is no emotion, no us.  Glad you felt better the next day

I really enjoyed this one.
Hate is an emotion that all must feel.
It goes hand in hand with all other emotions.
To deny hate is to stifle emotion.
"The madness lives in every human."
Sooooo true...
Great work here!

Glad you snapped out of it. The loss of your words here would be a tragic waste.

Once in my life I was in this much pain. I never want to experience that again. It's so empty.

May this be the finale of those thoughts for you.

starboards,
I agree.  dark poems usualy hold more emotion for me.

Isis,
I know there is no feeling without emotion.  But in this poem, my emotions were talking so it was rather ironic, the ending line, but that was exactly how I felt.

JennyLee,
Hate is a strong emotion, I'll agree with that.  It is felt, but I'd rather not feel it at all.

FreeByrd,
I'm glad you related.  This much pain I hope I never feel again.  If I do, I'm glad I can get it out of my system through poetry.

Thanks all, for the replies!

Joy, I too am glad that you have snapped out of this. . .

But I must concur with my fellow poets when they say that hate is an emotion that must be dealt with. . . the emptiness can consume you. . . if you let it. . .

Excellent work my friend. . . you have done well. . .

Joy- this is an incredible work. So many truths and things to relate to. I have been in a place like that. I'm glad I am no longer. And I'm glad that you are feeling better. A lot of times just letting it out is all you need.
