Eyes of the Beholder

i feel so lost,
like a stranger in a town.
not knowing any of the roads and streets,
kinda drifting on a cloud.

and i feel this overwhelming pain inside.
that's knawing away at me.
makes me feel like I'm no on to this world,
I'm just that one left over thing.

because I'd like to love
and love to live,
but learning to love this life i lead
is more than i have to give.

i am so powerless
like a peasant before a queen,
dropped to my knees and sentenced to a life
that does not want to be seen.

by the eyes of the beholder
that are scanning the woes and ways,
of every realm and living person
of every night and day.

and sometimes a glimmer appears
on the horizon of an unchartered land,
the adventurer tells you to go forth and see,
while the hermit says to remain and stand.

so you watch from a distance
wondering what could of been
if you had just reached out with your heart and soul
and took all you could take in.

now the empty space inside you,
grows with the fury of a fire
that can only be put out with the water of love
and all your dreams and desires.

but once in a while
the spotlight is shone on you,
that lights the living flame of life
and lets you find happiness in all you do.

so the moral of this verse before you
is unseen to the happy one
for your journey is nearing its ending point
while mine has just begun.

Very Good. I like this piece.

Hope you decide to follow the adventurer that tells you to go forth and see. Instead of always wondering what could have been.
