***Maybe this is the root of  my depression, but i'm not sure yet***

They say I look like her
Some say i have her smile
All of these things become boring
and really old after awhile

I've never met her
or searched her out
because I'm afraid she will hurt me
and I can do better without

They say I have his hair
Some say I share his personality
I always find myself staring at the mirror
trying to find something in me

But I've never met him
he's just a couple of chromosomes
given to me to make me whole
given to make me forever alone

Of course, they had no idea
it was just something unplanned
but i had no choice in this
In this, my opinion was banned.

Honey are you adopted??  I am, met my biological Mum 7 years ago, and I'm meeting my Dad for the first time on Dec 21st???  This is another thing we may have in common.
The poem is beautiful I always wondered you know??

Yes, in fact, I'm adopted and I'm having a hard time dealing with it subconsciencely, when did you find out that you were adopted??

I was 5, had a rough time dealing with it during puberty and the teenage years.  You could not find them back then.  When I was 25 the laws changed found Mum really quickly, Dad I shall meet next week.  I know every emotion you are dealing with hon.  I'll talk to you about it anytime.  I have found a few others in passions who are involved with adoptions too, you certainly aren't alone.  But next time I think we'd better discuss this subject via the email??

Well you've found a wonderful family here.

Your words come across extremely genuine,
truely a work of feelings.

I was pretty sure reading this, that you were adopted or had never met or knew your real parents.  It's quite clear.

You may have indeed found it my friend. . .

I must echo Freebird's comments and say that you have found a family here. . . we are all here for you Starboards. . . may you find that which you seek. . .

Good luck. . .

Yup. I gotta go with everyone else and say welcome to the family. Great poem.
