My quiet moments are deafening, The laughter all too rare, How I love to laugh you know, But who will really care.. The music I love isn't so pretty, The poems aren't so good, The books I read just leave me hanging, My heart feels made of wood. The birdsong it is rasping, Not pretty to me today, The phone rings shrill and hurting, Once I heard things another way. History how I love it, But today in it I saw only misery, Favourite movies hold no appeal, No more the powers that be. So I'll say an incantation, For it cannot hurt, It shall raise my soul a little, Lift up and free of dirt. My heart to thee, My soul to thee, By mystical moon, Return to me........
