"Forgive her"

                 Forgive her?
How could I forgive someone who has
                       caused me so much pain,
                       depression and anger?

"Easy, just say
      'I forgive you'."
                        Easy for you to say!
                        Okay, I'll try.

I forgive you for all you've done.
Even though you may not have been aware of it.
I forgive you for all you haven't done.
Even though you should have.

I ask you to forgive me for all I've done.
Even though I shouldn't have.
I ask you to forgive me for all I didn't do.
Maybe I should have.

By asking your forgiveness.
I release your memory from my heart.
By receiving your forgiveness,
I can make a new start.

So?
                   So what?
So how did it go?
It went all right I guess.
You guess?
Well, it takes a lot to forgive
                      someone who you loved, then
                      hated, and now. . .
Now. . . ?
                   Well, I forgave her. . .
To err is human. . .
                   . . . to forgive devine, I know.
                    I forgave. . .

                     . . . but can I forget?

The power to forgive is indeed a gift.  It is the strong who forgive the weak who cannot.
Loved this, the different style

Although possible to forgive...it is impossible to forgert. I guess at least by forgiving you walk away knowing you did all you could and are a better person.

Great one here
No one ever forgets....but forgiveness is a must...or the heart runs dry. Liked this very much.

One should never "forget" Sven, lest they fall into the same pit that caught them before, but alas, forgiving, indeed, is divine.  great work.

usually when i read a poem that appears to be more of a dialouge than anything else, i don't care for it, but your format has captured this so well, it really works for you.  it's a good poem

Thank you all. .

Roxane, I've tried to work with the dialogue in this way, I've found that it makes the poem easier to read and is less sressful on the reader. . .
