NOT SUPPOSED TO HURT

I see her and still have to smile,
Because it just kills me inside.
I remember walking the aisle,
On the day she became my bride.
Now, all I feel is the hurtin' -
Can only question God above,
Cause inside I'm almost certain
It's not supposed to hurt to love.

I awaken to the call of pain,
A sharp stinging in my chest.
Tasting my own blood, I sustain,
But everyday's a new test.
For no medicine grants me cure,
I can only sit here and seethe.
Cause deep down I'm really quite sure
It's not supposed to hurt to breathe.

Somewhere in a closet, hidden,
Lies a folded photograph
Faded feelings long forbidden
To a boy who once could laugh.
A loser's keep, a weeper's find,
A shoebox of denial,
Shall evermore serve to remind -
It's not supposed to hurt to smile.

In the ashes of ambition,
Crumbling life does surely seem
To come to its fruition
In the dying of a dream.
Reality stops to assert
No matter what I say or do,
This life is gonna hurt
Like it was never meant to.

After reading this - 2 scriptures come to mind....bear with me here....

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven....  Ecclesiastes 3:1

Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.  For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.  But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up....Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

I just want to let you know, you are no longer alone.  Everything that happens, has it's purpose - though we may not be able to see all the fine print of why - - Even good can come from our mistakes, and poor choices.  I am here with you now, lean on me babe....in turn, I will lean on you.

 - - - If I can just touch you once, then I feel I have accomplished what I am called to do...- - pFF

I understand C.S. Lewis once said about losing his wife.  "If you want to experience the love, you must be willing to endure the pain." I got a lot of healing out of that.

Keep moving ahead Michael.

It looks to me like there is another very special person in your life that can help sooth the pain.

There must be some kinda way out of here... say the joker to the thief

There's to much confusion, I can't get no relief
