THE RIDE

I am neither here, neither there -
Either might have served me to care.
But in the middle I must stay,
As all hope slowly slips away.
Not hot, not cold, always lukewarm,
No shape to mold, void, without form.
No love, no hate, no emotions,
No will, no fate, no devotions.

The abacus may weigh my worth,
The pinnacle of pointless birth.
Knowing no praise, indignity
Crowns me King Mediocrity.
Never giving, never taking,
Never living, ever faking
Through channels of a dormant brain,
The lies of life, pleasure and pain.

Somewhere between living and dead,
Plastic reality, well fed,
Draws her lines, therein the riddle;
Another day caught in the middle.
Society, an inert cause,
Seeking manufactured applause.
Spinning on the well-forged carousel,
I smile from my perpetual hell.

That'll mean the most to you when they're gone.

I bow down to passions Lord of Darkness

Another beauty Michael, you saw what is inside of all of us, we humbly try to put it into words, you do it easily (well it looks that way at least).  Bravo again.  This one touched my soul

I really enjoyed reading Walter's inspiration to you. Your talent screams "Here I Am!" Hope you'll
read my house of sighs?

I must admit, your work truly shines when you venture into realms philosophical. When coupled with your introspective bent, the results are Dark indeed.

Ah gees, I agree totally with DE and Isis !!  Wow, the things you do when you're alone....amazing!  Almost makes me want to leave you in the dark, so that you'll continue to write such as this fabulous piece, but then, I know how beautiful your soul is in the light, so I think again.  You are a man of many colors indeed....I too, humbly bow to you mi-Lord...

Michael, Don't know how I possibly could have missed this one the first time around.

This is Brilliant.

I've never done this before but with your work I new it could very well be possible to do.

I read this piece line for line backwards. It flows and interprets amazingly well either way. It's absolutely an amazing piece of work.

Kudos my friend. You could never be known as the King of Mediocrity.
