I looked upon you with black eyes,
as the colors spiraled
and burned down my cheeks
My cold, pale flesh
which was never meant to touch your own,
feeling even more sickly
And now more than ever
a tomb in which my soul resides

Never has there been
such a blade as sharp
as your pale, blue eyes
staring into mine
I shall miss them dearly,
but it's better this way
for you deserve so much more
More than I could ever offer
So tonight will be our last

After taking one last look,
it takes all of my strength
to follow through with my plan,
knowing what awaits me ahead
But I smile knowing that with my departure,
your life is yours again
and knowing that for a time,
I flew with complete grace

My wings tucked and hidden under my cape
and my hood pulled over to hide my face
My rough, bare feet
plodding through puddles
and across paths of stone
It is chilling and lonely
but like many times before,
I have no choice
Never before did I think
that I'd be afraid of my home

The road is endless
and I wander where no birds sing
but the load is less heavy
when I remember your face;
Then I know,
that even in the darkness of this place
love and happiness can exist
And I prey that you find your way,
as I fight against the current
hoping to find my own

Note: one reason I went with the whole angel thing was because he always refered to me as his angel...it was always a mystery to me as to why and I figured that if it be so, I must have been one that had fallen from grace a long time ago....which should explain the rest

First thing first, you caught me, the woman succumbed to mystery, by the name you are called, dark and mysterious. Like what our friend, Isis has said it's beautifully wicked and not to mention great imagery. I hope to hear more from you.

There is no more turning back this way
The path is overgrown and strewn with thorns
They've torn the lifeblood from your naked eyes
Cast aside to be forlorn..

One thing I've learned DE, nothing you love is dorky.  You have a right to live for a Flinstones cartoon if that is what you love    I always enjoy the Buffy shows and I'm 32! Does that make me an immature dork too?

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there IS to celebrate.

Beautifully sad, such a nice job you have done on this piece.

I happen to think that your name is quite beautiful. . .

She speaks of the dark with her voice
It comforts her in times of loss
Sings to her in times of night
She is the Dark Enchantress
Son of man, take flight. . .

Welcome my friend. . . your poem is quite lovely and deliciously wicked. . . fallen angel perhaps. . .but definitely one acquainted with the dark. . .

That which gives light must endure burning
