HELTER SKELTER

Dead of the night, Helter Skelter.
Numb, indeed, but still I felt her
On my neck, Sweet Love's chilling breath -
Dream's weight upon the scales of Death.
A burdened soul can't pay the price
Of life given to sacrifice.
The cost of heaven's lifelong hell,
The penance paid beneath her shell.
To confront the world, standing tall,
Amidst the worms wasting the wall.
Bricks delicately set in place,
By tears that never touch the face.
Wishes never offered in voice,
Volunteered without given choice...
By the prayers of the misguided,
And hope so aptly provided.
Who's the giver? Who's the taker?
Stand! Deliver! Meet your maker!
Darkness of Soul, my midnight sun,
I die, the independent one.
Numb, indeed, but still I felt her,
Dead of the night, Helter Skelter!

Rocked me well with this piece, especially since I am listening to Comfortably Numb by Floyd now (Pink Floyd to all you non-fans).

Truly appealing to me tonight is this piece.

Walter, I found your reply almost to be a poem in itself...think I will work on one for "not one nor the other". Thanks.

Thank you too, Dream an D.B.

I've felt her too, Michael. Nothing weighs you down more than the death of dream.

Gees Louise, you are a man of many talents! Even your dark side intrigues me like you can't imagine! The more I read, the better I know you!
