HELLO

A hello might do well
To quell some of this pain.
Silence hangs like dead weight,
This life's true ball and chain.
Tomorrow, a vision,
Must first sacrifice trust...
To sift from the ashes
The dreams given to dust.

From the cup of sorrow,
Filled by cold hands of ghost,
Come new wounds I harrow
By self-infliction's toast.
While church bells are ringing
In the distance near-by,
No angels are singing
To remind me of why.

There's no restitution
Where sin remains unknown.
Nor is absolution
Found in dying alone.
No one, though, hears my cry,
Letting my last breath go.
So why offer good-bye,
I never heard hello?

Oh Michael...I hear you crying, but soon you will be flying - with me! We do need to work on that positive attitude of yours......(sigh)
Oh how I wish you would rejoice with me....don't feel pain, feel happiness and new love! And remember that I love you, no matter how low you feel - I am there lifting you up.

Sad, Michael. But portraited oh so well.

Another great verse
for us you have shown
to help break the curse
of feeling alone
to me this rings real
you hit close to home
just so you feel
not quite so alone.

Great work Michael

Sadness is an old friend is it not, a comfortable ally against the new and unknown?

Echoes of myself do I see in this

Thunder, it is a great honor to be answered in verse, TY also, I do not feel so alone.

Danni & Ohme, thanks for the smiles.

Dream, it is a strange comfort one can derive in sadness...very true words my Dark friend.

Michael, I know what you mean about the comfort in sadness. Ever hear the song "I'm Only Happy When It Rains"? One of the lines is "you want to hear about my new obssession, I'm riding high upon a deep depression". I get myself in these at times and as crazy as it sounds, I like it!
Loved your poem.

Lonliness isn't being alone
Lonliness is alone in being. . .

Too true my friend. . . we can be alone even when we are surrounded by those we love. . .

But it appears that you have someone who wants to show you the way home. . . take her hand my friend. . . and let her show you again. . .

Michael I offer you hellos and hugs. Comeon, things are on the improve for you these days!! Rejoice in new found love.
I too hear echoes of myself in this piece.

Oh Lostboy - I know the song you speak of - Garbage kept me sane through some of the worst times in my life....isn't that crazy? I spent many nights drinking trying to drown in my sorrow....with them playing loudly in the background! Thanks for reminding me of that time in my life. It makes me more thankful for today ! Sorry Michael, I know how you hate it when all your stuff it bumped back at the same time, but oh well....you'll get over it !
