Caught in a landslide
Swallowed by pride
Where is the mind
Searching high and low
Will has been worn
Heart has been torn
Soul verses soul
Fighting to let go

Never saw it coming
Think by now I'd learn
How it goes
And how the tables turn
She was a new day
'Till the sun went down
Heart has lost the way
This time won't be found
Dreamed of good things
But never knew
How one day dreams
Turn their back on you

See it clearly
Toying with the brain
Replaying over and over
Again and again
Gave away what
Was promised to be shared
To the one
Who truly loved and cared

Call it a vision
A slice of daily bread
Call it a nightmare
Of what's been done and said
Whispers in the dark
Knowing it's not me
Time after time
That vision twisting me

What can I say that I haven't already said.
You continue to speak to me through your poems. Another beautiful one. I especially liked the line "How one day your dreams turn their back on you", A lesson I have harshly learned.

Thank you yet again danni. Hopefully I can continue to speak to you (provided my brain keeps working!). I look forward to your responses and more of your work as well!!

Yep. "How one day dreams turn their back on you" were the lines I liked the best.
That seemed to tie the poem together, in the middle this time, not at the end where it usualy does.

Your poem really got me thinking.
Its funny how another persons emotions can bring out so many similar ones in ourselves.Keep writing!

Really liked the flow in this one, different and "grabbing". Great depiction of emotions as well. Great Job!

Exquisitely Dark, lostboy. Dreams do seem to turn their back on you, don't they...or maybe it is us who forsake them? Something to ponder.
