Words quietly spoken beneath his breath
Heard as a whisper to her ears
Taking his hand, wraping in hers
They walked the gnarled dark woods
The night is upon them
No longer can they see
What is ahead
The darkness encircles every corner of every tree.
Her arm starts to shake
He calms her with his whispers
Now lower than before.
The sound of distant footsteps
Echo in their ears
Then as soon as they came
They seemed to disapeer.
Walking
Not seeing
Where would this un taken path lead?
They stopped then, listening again for the evil,
and realized it was time, time for them to feed.
He grabbed hold of her arm
And shunned away the evil that came to do harm
She whimpered and cried
Softly with as much effort as she had
And he whispered words of comfort
Louder now, like a prayer.
The light would never come now
They both knew they went to far
Into the woods, the evil woods
Where they planned to give their lives
But also wanted to keep their love forever
Without the sacrifice
To die.
Together they held eachother
Lost in their own world and un reachable depths
Waiting until the spirit keeper
Came to collect their souls
Came to collect, and inflict upon them, death

Very nice... Love the imagery used in this one. I was walking through those woods in my mind as I read this

Oh, very intricate piece here...very revealing. To find forever in love would be worth dying for to many, I believe. Beautifully done, Joy.
