THE BEQUEATHAL

When I was well, you turned thy head.
I found no love, no light with thee.
Now, fallen ill and next to dead,
You hoover like buzzards over me.

You bask in my sorrow, singing-
Of joyous times we've shared from youth.
The dollar signs in your eyes ringing-
Up what fallen kin is to you in truth.

Place your hand upon my forehead.
Say for me another silent prayer.
Wish me to hell, a thousand times dead,
I will be waiting for you there.

How is it you pray with one eye looting,
Scouring the lot in seek of gain,
With my soul not yet finished uprooting.
Asked, I'd gladly share this pain.

When the time comes, my will be open.
I only have one dying plea.
Burn all my worldly possessions, then-
Divi the ashes ‘mongst my family.

And so, being young and dipt in folly
I fell in love with melancholy,
But dreams - of those who dream as I,
Aspiringly, are damned, and die:

I loved loved entire piece...but the last two lines.............
Hit way close to home. I wish the ones in my family hadn't hovered around all my Aunts things. I would've rather seen her ashes scatterd all around the room and for them to to have tried to lay claim to her dust.

Excellent piece.
