It's my fault
I was the one who fell in love
and you're innocent
because you didn't

I was so stupid
It should have been easy to spot
I was doomed to love you
and you, my love, were not

I'll learn next time, though
The punishment doesn't fit the crime
I'll disconnect my heart
this I can promise

But don't worry
You did nothing wrong
in fact, you were smart
because you never loved me all along

Now THIS is a sad one, don't put yourself down

I'll have to agree with Isis on this one.....
Very sad.....don't take the blame and place it upon your shoulders alone.... It can be a very heavy burden for one person to undertake.

Don't put yourself down.

Drop a line if you need anything.

I like this one a lot, it hit close to home. Sorry if I don't practice what I preach, but you gotta try to cheer up!
Still a good poem though.

Love has a way of doing this to you, doesn't it. But then if you're like me you're always willing to try again for some reason, maybe we just love the pain....good poem, btw.

this pierces the heart, effective and saddening
but does disconnecting lead to less pain?

If your lucky you find it the first time around. The lucky are in the minority.

Stay on the carousel. You can see the difference when the brass ring comes down.

Nice work

I've certainly been guilty of this. Though we do say "we were stupid", we "felt" and that's a wonderful thing regardless of what we expected for an outcome.
