She loves and cares and gives to all
And receives so little in return
Her gifts drop away like bright leaves in fall
Helping others is her concern

Her talent is obvious, 'tis so true
Much less appreciation she knows
Her words color us with a visionary hue
And in them ancient wisdom glows

Mortal flesh often fails her
But her native spirit is strong
Intellect still hungers
And her soul goes forever on

Her mind is an elemental frieze
And in earthlore oft sups
Her brave heart waves in slightest breeze
Like endless golden buttercups

If she was to leave us one day
And we were left to mourn
I'll not regret, for I will say
I love you, Goddess Earthborn.

I am enraptured with the responses to this meager attempt to describe my muse, especially if it brings attention to the one for whom it was written. A jewel as a friend and poet.
