Lamb given over to sacrifice,
Floundering in depths of sorrow,
Not knowing and not caring,
If there is today, tonight and tomorrow.

Gossamer strands of cobwebs,
Cover my soul like lace,
Muscles spasm and painful,
As I try to put a smile on my face.

Mortal toiling each day endlessly,
No joys to shatter the void,
Searching for the beacon of light,
Longing for comfort in the night.

Today the grim reaper smiled me,
Afear, I wondered what he had in mind,
Will I awaken tomorrow?
And if so what will I find?

Barefooted on the glowing red coals,
Pain piercing feet and being,
I wonder who's in control,
Is there something I'm not seeing?

I take my protein pills and put my helmet on,
Preparing for another day,
I'll try this one surrounded by song,
And chase the blues away.
