Always on the outside looking in,
I see the darkness bare it's teeth and grin,
Can't hear the calls over the din,
My pain it dwells within.

Stuck in the abyss,
The key to freedom a kiss,
Longing to be cocooned in bliss,
Can't see an end to this.

Darkness hemming in on me,
Arms of terror are smothering me,
Is this how it's meant to be?
Is this all that's left of we?

Drowning in pain,
No way to reach the shore,
Nothing but disdain,
Give me strength to fight once more.

Locked in the padded white cell,
Nowhere happy for my heart to dwell,
Tears I've cried could fill a well,
Could some sorceress end this spell?

Barbaric emotional torture,
Too much pain to endure,
I need to find the cure,
My heart longs to be pure once more.

I beg you put an end to my pain,
There was nothing for you to gain,
I pray some happiness and laughter remain,
Don't make me live this way again.

How beautiful....I love the line "Longing to be cocooned in bliss,"

Pain is always dark, Sys.

Drowning in pain,
No way to reach the shore...

That got me.
