Winged beast flying beyond the battlements,
Ever threatening me, flying in low,
Your razor sharp talons longing to pierce heart and soul,
My dreams created you, oh when will you go?

When I am low or frightened,
I look out the light hole and you are there!
Such menace and threats you convery,
Like my soul's burden I cannot bear.

Poisonous barbs from the beast extend,
Aimed at me each and every one,
Not knowing what will trigger the attack,
With your presence what will I become?

I hope you are only a warning,
Of one possible future,
Not my only future or destiny,
They as yet haven't invented suctures.

Locked in the the tower,
Too scared to leave my prison,
Perhaps I'll come outside again,
When you and your darkness have risen.

I felt entraped, enclosed...but..even so.. I know...that the only way the darkness will hold...is to put out the fire of the bold..

Great poem...m'Lady of Mysteries..

Well it is certainly a joy to have you here in Dark, Isis. I loved the last line of this poem...the poem overall is great but that last line slammed it home so to speak.
Great work.

Solitary confinement self imposed.

I can see the scales and hear the flapping leathery wings.
