Thoughts of Man

I'm the saddening tear of contempt's eye
leaving just enough for a desperate cry of misery
I view the blind man rising up from the sea
and he teaches me how to dream reality
Can I please get a match to light
the path to a world of endless emptiness
Would I be out of line it I decided
that it was time to laugh a bit

I'm the twisted knife in society's back
leaving open wounds all over the world's map
Images come and go as they please
leaving my mind a vegetable needing to be squeezed
I see pipers guard the gates at dawn
and then disappear when they realize who they really are
I seem to belong in an alligators mouth
but not even he would snap his jaws and finish me

I can see the evils that are still alive
and I'm striving to get a connection within them
Will the stars really fall on me?
When I actually only grieve inconsistently
My powers come from within my soul
But they do not fuction with a heart that is so cold
I don't know where my faith has gone
but all along prayer was just an irregularity

I'm flying overhead in the air
Staring down at all the beautiful squares in my life
They like to put me on a crucifix
but no one thought I would rise and grow and grow
I'm the twinkling madness in every man's mind
waiting for the perfect time to let it go
May I leave this world behind
go away with you and dance all night?

An affair with Mort? I like this one.
