passing through the walls slipping down the halls along the corridors within your mind I walk ever so softly you don't know that I'm here I whisper things that you cannot yet hear and may never know Weightless I float within the ebony of night Diligently stalking ribbons of light that blind me with their brilliance I cut them in half with my shadow The shade that is more me than what others see in their fantasy world of white and rainbows It is I who hears thunder crash accompanied by breaking glass and I smell destiny in the wind A heavy scent, not ethereal as gunshots rip through the fabric of night I ponder the souls -- those lost lives and I feel them Invisible to most while their hands reach for something to hold the night divides devouring them whole leaving with me another piece of itself I look within and open the box I take off the shelf from the secret room inside myself and slip it inside I hold it close It is what others don't see that hidden part of me the truth behind the smiles I sit here holding your soul feeling you breath knowing your needs but elusive as a ghost I do not intrude although the box is calling through space I am falling embracing my reality You will feel no pain but someday down the line you might look and find a piece of yourself missing I needed it for my box ~~~~~~ |
