I plunge through twisted briars
a frightented hare within my heart
beating, beating, scant a breath
within my chest
heaving, heaving
icy pangs within my chest
flames behind my eyes
scorching, searing my sanity

Why?

   "Why ask why?"
I hear them scream
yet slurred of speech
they still scream
in cyclic patterns
within my mind
clockwise and counter
spinning in pattern
still screaming at me
in slurred speech
from thickened tongues
sweat breaks out upon my brow
ears ringing a maddening dirge

"Stop screaming at me!!!

   The wind strips my words
leaving nothing
as still they scream
more frantic, more slurred
faces of friends frowning, revolving
screaming
I can't awaken
still they scream
leering closer, some recede
Be still my mind
silence the ravings
I've had for life
but can I leave
what I've grown up knowing
to be true yet false
I dare not ask
for I can't hear questions
above the screams

What do you mean, this is your mentality??? It could describe mine as well-great job, Alicat.

Thanks JennyLee.

Elizabeth...thanks for the reply. This was written some time back in one of my rare manic moments. :-P

Alicat,
Thank you for allowing us to peek within your walls of madness. Well done, i hear the screams myself....

Well done indeed, I however have rare moments of non-manicity... (wonder if that's a word!)
