Prayer

What can you say when hope is gone,
When we falter so shamelessly?
Why would we lay our dreams upon
The Faith alter of Fallacy?

In sacrifice of all self worth,
Iniquity becomes the crown.
We pay the price of human birth,
Indignity before renown.

Laughter, a smile, the tears you cry...
The gloried truths of innocense.
After awhile, while years slip by,
A storied youth's no recompense.

With calloused heart, with pensive tread,
We step through life a Piper's rats.
We play our part - dare to live dead,
Foregoing strife, walking doormats.

Taking a knee, braved to believe,
Through unseen scars, browbeaten eyes;
A promise we shall find reprieve,
Pitching the stars our selfless lies.

The internal rhyme is most evident in this slice of your Dark soul. Though I need not say it, this poem is well done once again. Thank you for sharing.
