The Captive God

I looked upon the captive God,
I spit in the face of creation.
Damned to hell, I think it odd,
Here lies no worse alienation.

For God be love, a mortal's curse,
Whispered yet on my dying breath.
For Love, I gave my life in verse,
And in turn, She, the stake of Death.

Plunged so deeply into my chest,
Ripped away to expose the void.
I gave, then, all my earthly rest
That peace in death might be enjoyed.

Bo, lo, in Darkness here I stand,
No penance for the sin of pain.
Living dead by One's command,
Now dead, I relive the disdain.

Faceless, idle, glazed over eyes,
A faction of human need and wit.
A graceless idol, chained in lies,
Upon the captive God I spit.

That, my friend, deserves a standing ovation but you will have to make do with my admiration and amazement at this piece.

What else can I say Michael, but that you never cease to amaze me?

"For Love, I gave my life in verse,
And in turn, She, the stake of Death"

Chilling.
