"VICTIM"S RIGHTS!!!" the headlines blatantly cry.
"WHERE?! DAMNIT!! WHERE?!" shouts one small I.

Abuse, molest; shame, guilt shrouds my soul...
All in the name of love; that's a reason so I'm told.

"Let me hold you so I can hurt you with my need.
Let me have your innocence, though you will bleed."

"NO! PLEASE!!!" I cry..."It's me...a child.. a helpless creature!
You are older, wiser....you're to be a teacher."

Well, you've taught me well on the fiber of life.
I'm not mentally fit to be a good man's wife.

Guilt, mistrust, misguided beliefs, all crowd my mind.
Do you think this all came about because you were oh so kind?

Yes...I bled...my childhood so freely taken.
By one of life's teachers; what have you forsaken?

Maybe in your mind I was there just for your pleasure.
But the loss of innocence leaves a grief beyond measure.

You were reckless, thoughtless, consumed by your need.
But you, Teacher Dear, murdered a child without heed.

Very poignant message here, Wild Child,
and one we don't see enough of. The abuse and molest that goes on in this world is almost unoticed accepted anymore. I truly feel the wounds of this piece. I will post one of my own on the very same subject today.

Thank you Michael for taking the time to read this. It is a sad thing that most of our society does not care or at the very least are apathetic to the plight of abused children in our country (and elsewhere). It seems as if we now a country of walking wounded with no outward scars to prove our battles though it rages on inside like a boiling cauldron searing the soul. I will be pleased to read your piece on this subject.
