We are sediment,
The fallout of the river’s rush,
Bedrocked spiraling chromosomes
Layered through the crust.

We are offerings of
First breath of life on Earth.
Descendent from a meteor
Searching out our worth.

We are human kin
The fallout of love exhaled.
Why does it follow then
we thrive on love impaled?

We are sediment,
The fallout of the river’s rush
A common breath we shared
Why must that breath be hushed?

A very wise question for deep consideration.  I really liked this.  An interesting parallel drawn.

I had so many sensations, images, visions, and thoughts swirling through my mind like a river rushing through native lands.

A compelling write, lovely lily lady!

Good morning hug, Dear One!

A lovely poem, Jo, and asking a question I often ask.  I guess only time will bring understanding.

The third stanza is most powerful, Iliana. Quite a pleasure to read this...thank you.

I agree with Sunshine, that third stanza shouts.  KJ

Very good, iliana. It would
be wondereful to sit down and
talk to our ancestors, wouldn't it?
Hugs, my friend

You're all just wonderful and so kind to comment, thanks!  My muse threw me a word last night (sediment) and forced me to write -- glad you liked the outcome!   .....jo
